Moderation & SafetyModeration

Moderation

The moderator basics. Every command is a slash command — there’s nothing to set up in the dashboard for these, except the mod-log channel (see below), which an admin sets there.

Mod log: If a mod-log channel is set in the dashboard, Herukan automatically posts a summary of kicks, bans, mutes and warnings there — so moderators who didn’t run the command themselves can still see what happened.

Role hierarchy: Herukan prevents a member from targeting someone who, by Discord’s role hierarchy, is equal to or above them (or above Herukan itself) via a command — exactly like Discord’s own interface would prevent as well. The server owner is exempt from this.

/kick

Permission: Kick Members

Removes a member from the server. They can rejoin at any time via a new invite link.

OptionDescription
memberThe member to kick
reasonReason for the kick (optional)

/ban

Permission: Ban Members

Permanently bans a member from the server — they can’t rejoin until unbanned.

OptionDescription
memberThe member to ban
reasonReason for the ban (optional)

/unban

Permission: Ban Members

Lifts a ban. Since the person is no longer on the server, they’re specified by their user ID instead of the normal member picker (you can get the ID in Discord via right-click → “Copy ID”, provided developer mode is enabled).

OptionDescription
user_idUser ID of the person to unban

/mute

Permission: Moderate Members (Timeout)

Puts a member into a timeout (Discord’s built-in mute) for a set duration — they can’t write or speak during that time.

OptionDescription
memberThe member
minutesDuration in minutes (default: 10)
reasonReason (optional)

/unmute

Permission: Moderate Members (Timeout)

Ends an ongoing timeout early.

OptionDescription
memberThe member

/warn

Permission: Kick Members

Gives a member a warning. Warnings are stored permanently and can be looked up at any time with /warnings — they don’t have any automatic consequence by themselves (e.g. no automatic kick after X warnings). AutoMod also issues a warning whenever it removes a message.

OptionDescription
memberThe member
reasonReason for the warning

/warnings

Permission: none — any member can use this command

Shows all stored warnings for a member. Without specifying a member, it shows your own warnings.

OptionDescription
memberMember (default: yourself)

/clear

Permission: Manage Messages

Deletes multiple messages at once in the current channel. The confirmation is only visible to you (ephemeral).

OptionDescription
amountNumber of messages to delete, 1–100 (default: 10)
